As the guests arrived they were greeted with their own Lei, then they decorated little Thong cut outs and wrote their name on the back - this then became attached with a mini peg the Bag Tag for the lovely Party Favours (loads of fun Beachey themed Erases, Note Pads, Key rings and Sunnies snapped up at the $2 Shop!) The bags were Hot Pink and Lime Green Paper Bags from the ladies at Details Details.
The kids played "Toss the Coconut into the Basket"
Freeze Dance (always a fav for the girls) with lots of Beach Boys Music ;)
Hawaiian Pass the Parcel
And Amelia's Aunty did Beauitful Face Painting of Hibiscus Flowers, Pineapples and Starfish
After filling up on tasty Treats - the kids all had a swim to top it off.
I love this party because it is something that was achvieved on a budget and looked great!

Halloween Birthday Party!

After visiting the US a couple of years ago during the time leading up to Halloween, my eldest (who's birthday is a couple of days before) has been nagging me to have a Halloween themed party and this year I thought - why not!
So this is it Chloe's 6th Birthday.......
AMAZING ....Janelle of Big Cake, little cake made this from a picture Chloe picked out from the Internet....this cake dictated the whole theme of the Party!

Some Gluten Free Chocolate Cupcakes....

Wouldn't be Halloween without Candy Corn.

Pumpkin Sugar Cookies

and Bat Sugar Cookies

Chewy Ghost Meringues....

and my favourite at every party...Jelly Cups

Chocolate Spiders , Pumpkin Lollipops and Pumpkin Popcorn bags were also treats to eat....YUM

Giggleberry Bunting

The kids enjoyed some traditional Party games , Pass the Parcel, Pin the Bat Heart on the Skeleton, Freeze dance to cool spooky Halloween songs, and Snakes on a Line as well as ....

Busy at work....colouring. My mother made the great spider's web that covered the centre of the table.

The gorgeous Tissue Pom Poms from Ah - Tissue

The childrens table where they did very cute colouring pages (Free download from Kate Landers) whilst the other guests arrived.

Serving up the Witches Brew...see the sneeky spiders peeking through the pom poms

The lighting of the candles

Surrounded by presents.....every girls dream. I just want to point out Chloe's costume ...once again the work of my mother (I can't sew like her) Hundreds of indivdual feathers, too cute.

The little "Witches Broom" Party favour (bag from Details Details and design by good old Martha Stewart) with Thank you tags from Raspberry Creative that matched the Invitations.

Drink bottles and Cutlery holders

Everyone had a Spooktacular Time!

Halloween Food

Well the wet weather in Brisbane has made me get into doing a few more bits and pieces for the party. I thought I would have a trial run with a snack that the kids will have on their desert table - Popcorn Pumpkin!

I was surprised, I thought that there would be a whole lot more fiddling about but it only took a matter of a minute and I have my little Popcorn Pumpkin.

I had cut out the orange crepe paper first by just tracing around a plate. I made a batch of popcorn (which my youngest processed to scoff!) I wrapped a large handful into cling wrap then wrapped the crepe paper around the popcorn bringing everything to the top. Finishing with Green Florist Tape to form the stork of the Pumpkin.

Chloe couldn't wait to rip it open to dig into the popcorn!

Easy Peasy! Will be a little job the morning of the party to ensure the popcorn is nice and fresh :)

I think these displayed beautifully will work a treat, might even make one or two into jack-o-lanterns...

The Invitations....

Most of you would know that I have been working on a little project over the last few months. So here I go with my first posting to my new Blog.

For the last 2 years Chloe has been asking if she could have a Halloween Themed Birthday Party and since she is born on the 28 th Oct, it seemed like a fun theme to run with, now that she is turning 6.

Well, the time has come to hand out these invitations so beautifully designed by Ness at Raspberry Creative .... raspberrycreative.com.au

I am so wrapped with the end result, right down to the little diamonty on the Owl's little Witches hat. There are little hints of what the Party has in store and Ness took on board everything, Thanks so much!

The Party was NOT to be a gruesome affair but to be Fun and a great excuse for a Dress Up, I wanted to keep in mind that it is still a 6 yr old Girls Birthday Party so in contradiction to Halloween, it was to be Girly as well.

I was very fortunate to win an amazing competition winning prizes from Sharnel Dollar Designs , Ah -Tissue, Giggleberry and Details Details.

This definitatley got the ball rolling for what has become a little bit of an obsession!

I can't wait to share the photos of the party with you....the countdown is on :)
